Welcome to ‘5 things’, a monthly round-up ‘sletter created with the purpose of hopefully introducing you to some cool new things. Whether newly discovered or tried and true—I share 5 things with you each month that really caught my attention. The end of the year always comes with a bunch of emotions for me—tell me I’m not alone?! It’s definitely to do with the colder weather and wanting to hunker down and hibernate all winter. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’M NOT A WINTER GIRLIE. What I am excited about though is the holiday break! I can’t wait for the much-needed R&R I’m planning on having. It’s just going to be me, sweatpants, hot cocoa, and books 🥺 Sounds like absolute heaven. Even though I’ve been a long-time believer that “new years” doesn’t actually mean anything, and that we should be setting and reaching our goals all throughout the year, I’m not going to be the NY Grinch and ruin it for anyone else. So this month I’m sharing a few things I think could help you if you’re planning on doing a reset throughout December to prepare for that “new year, new me” feeling. My new favourite wearable tech - I contemplated this purchase for YEARS, but I am super glad I waited. The Oura ring has undergone many improvements since its debut. Not only is it still a cutting-edge sleep tracker, it also works great as an activity tracker and now brings all that data together to formulate even deeper insights about your health. My favourite new addition though? Cycle insights! If you’re also a girlie looking for more data about your cycles, I’d highly recommend using the Oura ring with the app Natural Cycles. If you missed their Black Friday sale, you can use my link for $50 off your purchase. The best iPhone 15 accessories - The best iPhone 15 accessoriesSince it’s been 2 years since the purchase of my last iPhone, it was time for me to upgrade. I usually upgrade every 2 generations because there’s usually a greater difference in technology rather than switching phones every release. I have been loving my iPhone 15 Pro Max so far and would definitely recommend the upgrade if you’re using an iPhone 13 Pro or earlier model. But what I’ve been enjoying just as much as the iPhone are my brand-new accessories from MOFT. I’ve been using MOFT products for several years now and I’m a die-hard fan of their laptop case and iPhone wallet. But for the iPhone 15 release, they created the MOFT Creator Kit and it contains some of my favourite iPhone products yet. The kit comes with a strap, a case, a magnetic card holder AND their brand-new magnetic stand. The stand has been so incredibly helpful when I’m creating content on the go. It’s also sleek and compact so it’s been a no-brainer to throw it in my purse and bring it everywhere with me. Something cute to keep you hydrated - I keep telling myself to stop buying water bottles but IT’S SO TEMPTING. The good thing is cute water bottles motivate me to keep hydrated more so at least they’re doing something good? 😅 I’m currently obsessed with the Bink bottles. I got the Day Bottle but I’m now also eyeing the puffer bottle. I love the huge variety of colours and the minimal design. I’m just such a sucker for good design and branding and I think that Bink is killing it in every category. If you’re a dehydrated girlie like me and need some extra motivation to get your water intake up, you can use my discount code ‘SPEAKOFTHEANGEL’ for 15% off. A productivity book I loved - Lately I’ve been connecting with book publishers because of my increase in book content on all 3 of my platforms. It’s been the best. thing. ever. Getting early access to books before they’re widely released to the public is literally a dream come true and it’s easily one of the best new perks of my job. Receiving Feel Good Productivity by Ali Abdaal was an extra special moment for me because I’ve been a massive fan of his content ever since the early days of his YouTube career. I would’ve purchased this book upon release anyways so I’m so thankful I was picked to be one of the receivers of his debut book. I breezed through this book SO FAST and it’s everything I was expecting and more. If you’re in need of some tips to up your productivity and motivation without completely selling your soul to the hustle culture, this book is a must-read. The best undated planner - It’s been a while since I’ve used a structured planner. Ever since I started bullet-journaling, it’s been my go-to method when keeping track of my day to day by pen and paper. Papier totally changed that for me this year when they gifted me an undated planner. I am in LOVE with the layout, it’s been working so well for me. Not only do you get space to plan out priorities for the week, your meals, and your schedule, it actually also asks you to list your 3 top priorities for the day (with space below that for additional tasks you want to accomplish). I LOVE the focus on prioritization and it’s been so helpful when it comes to not overwhelming myself with my endless to-do list. If I’d recommend one planner for 2024, this is it.
